Oxford Global Conferences are proud to the present the Microbiology & Infectious Diseases Asia Congress, taking place on the 10 & 11 June 2014 in Singapore. This event is an executive platform for experts working in microbiology, bacteriology, mycology, virology and parasitology in Asia Pacific.
As global concern grows over drug-resistant infections and the prevalence of infectious diseases, researchers are looking to enhance capabilities for pathogen detection, infection diagnosis and genomic analysis of disease-causing micro-organisms. The congress brings together leading experts in the field of microbial genomics, clinical microbiology, infectious diseases and microbial diagnostics, to discuss ground-breaking technologies and game-changing case studies.
Day One of the event has a strong technology focus; delegates will hear discussion of the latest technological breakthroughs in pathogen detection, microbial identification and molecular diagnostics for infectious diseases. Experts will also discuss pressing issues in clinical microbiology: detecting antibiotic resistance, analysing polymicrobial interactions and developing new antimicrobials.
Day Two will cover NGS applications in microbiology, including microbial genome sequencing, pathogen gene expression analysis and genome assembly. Delegates will also hear new infection case studies – topics include global strategies to combat emerging diseases, prevention and control of zoonotic diseases and updates concerning recent disease outbreaks in Asia Pacific.
