JMBFS Impact Factor for 2024 Increased to 0.8

We are pleased to announce that the Journal of Microbiology, Biotechnology and Food Sciences (JMBFS) has received an improved impact factor of 0.8 for the year 2024, as reported by Clarivate’s Journal Citation Reports.
This marks a positive shift compared to last year’s impact factor of 0.6 and reflects the ongoing commitment of our editorial team, reviewers, and authors to improving the scientific quality and visibility of the journal.
While we are encouraged by this upward trend, we would also like to be transparent with our readers: one of the two years included in this impact factor calculation still contains duplicate articles in the Web of Science database. These duplicate entries have artificially increased the number of published articles counted in the denominator of the impact factor formula. However, thanks to increased citations and continued academic engagement, the overall metric has still improved.
As a reminder, JMBFS publishes around 180 articles annually. Despite the remaining data irregularity, our improved impact factor reflects stronger citation performance and growing recognition in the scientific community.
We are actively working with Web of Science to resolve any lingering indexing issues, and we expect future metrics to more accurately reflect the journal’s true impact.
We thank all of our contributors and readers for their continued trust and support.
